Counterfeiting Warning

The international standing of Charles-Hossein Zenderoudi and the recognition enjoyed by his work expose both the work and his name to unauthorised uses: works falsely attributed to him, services unduly claiming his expertise or authority, or commercial exploitation of his reputation with no connection to him. The public, collectors, art-market professionals and users of the Site are invited to exercise the greatest vigilance in the face of such conduct.

Any unauthorised reproduction, performance or dissemination of a work by Charles-Hossein Zenderoudi, and any unauthorised use of the name “Zenderoudi”, registered as a trademark with the Institut national de la propriété industrielle, constitutes an act of infringement within the meaning of articles L.335-2 and L.335-3 (copyright) and L.713-2 and L.716-4 (trademark law) of the Intellectual Property Code. These offences are punishable by three years’ imprisonment and a fine of €300,000, increased to seven years’ imprisonment and a fine of €750,000 when committed by an organised group.

More broadly, any unauthorised exploitation of the name, image or reputation of Charles-Hossein Zenderoudi, for any purpose whatsoever, may engage the civil liability of its author, even independently of any infringement of an intellectual-property right.

The website www.zenderoudi.com is the official channel of information relating to Charles-Hossein Zenderoudi, his biography and his work. As to the authenticity or attribution of a work, Charles-Hossein Zenderoudi, as a living author, alone has a direct and personal knowledge of what he has created, which no third party may claim in his place.

In the event of doubt as to the origin of a work, the standing of a service presenting itself as connected with the artist, or the authenticity of information concerning him, it is recommended to refer to the Site or to contact the artist or his written representative directly, on the terms set out in the statement “Expertise and authentication of works”, a separate document accessible from the Authentication and Certificates page. No gallery or expert currently holds a mandate from Charles-Hossein Zenderoudi to authenticate the works of which he is the author.

The counterfeiting of works of art is today particularly widespread internationally, on marketplaces and online sales platforms where the absence of a prior filter favours the circulation of works falsely attributed to Charles-Hossein Zenderoudi.

Before any purchase, the buyer is advised to check that the work offered for sale is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Zenderoudi Archives, and then to confirm, directly with Zenderoudi Archives, the validity of that certificate before completing the transaction.
